Check dams have proven to be very effective erosion and sediment control measures by reducing the flow velocities causing silt and sediment to settle upstream. Reduced water velocity also results in minimized downstream erosion.
ACF West’s Triangular Silt Dike is a reuseable, multipurpose alternative to rock check dams. Made of lightweight and durable materials, triangular silt dikes install quickly, conform to curves and rough terrain, and clean easily for multiple uses. The protective apron on both sides of the dike prevent erosion and failure.
